Just as 2013 was ending with a bang- new haircut, new opportunities- life sorta hands you, well, a box of chocolates! You never quite know what to expect?! Embracing the element of surprise is kinda what I’ve been up to the last few months or so. In addition, to nursing my way back to health. 2014 will be the year where I will not only accept, but celebrate, what I have not planned. Illustrating to my God my growth and trust in His plan…not mine. Welcome, baby. I can’t wait to meet you. tm2
I purchased this top in the summer of 2009–still very happy with this top and still receive tons of compliments 3 years later! When searching for vintage (lol) pieces like this, always try ebay first! Your second move should be the Jcrew Aficionada Great Weekly Exchange “looking to find” posts. You can find that link here.
I couldn’t let the week pass without acknowledging some of my favorite people in the world! I consider myself a life-long student; I like LOVE learning new things! So in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, I thought it would make sense to highlight two of my favorite Blogger/YouTube Channels—who just so happen to be teachers, as well!! Actually, when I found out they were teachers, it just propagated my affinity for them!
Favorite Teacher Blogger
little tin soldier
Linda, of little tin soldier, has such an amazing spirit. I remember emailing her years ago about a specific Theory cardigan and how helpful she was trying to locate something similar. It didn’t surprise me one bit when I found out she was a kindergarten teacher. Children need to be around fun prints and colors, and of course, lots of creativity! Linda represents all of that – from her stylishly colorful wardrobe (I love a girl who’s not afraid of color) to her customized prints (I desperately need one of her dolls in my life!)—she is the quintessential elementary school teacher! I can only pray that my 4 year old gets a teacher like her next year!
Favorite YouTube Channel/Teacher
Recently, mstanish1 revealed that she was awarded the teacher of the year at her school. I’m not sure what grade she teaches but I can definitely see her as a teacher. She seems fun and sincere. She also is one who has a stylishly fun wardrobe! I subscribe to her channel because I am also natural and we seem to have a similar hair type. She is a quite creative with her hair–if I had more free time I would try more of her looks!
Ladies, thanks for all that you do and teaching our next generation!!
